Kevin Brady studied painting and drawing at Kalamazoo College, the University of Michigan, and in Aix-en-Provence, France. He is currently on the faculty at Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where he teaches drawing, collage, color, and design. Brady has exhibited widely in the Midwest and garnered several recognitions there. In 2008, he was awarded an Artist Fellowship to the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and, two years later, the Dedalus Foundation Fellowship Award to the Vermont Studio Center. His work has appeared in solo shows in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, as well as many juried and invitational exhibits. Since 2009, he has been working on a series of large oil paintings, Scenes from a Scrapyard, alongside his collage practice. Both modes of working take as their subject those in-between states of materials, in which cultural artifacts have been discarded and reassigned to natural processes.
